This open volunteer position is responsible for the Church environment. The coordinator, with the assistance of an established committee, plans the liturgical environment and prepares a hospitable and prayerful atmosphere in the worship space with the changing seasons of the liturgical year.
The coordinator meets with the committee throughout the year to plan for the design, setup, removal and storage of the decor for major feasts and seasons, such as Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter, in addition to other special occasions. The coordinator, having a budget, purchases the needed materials. Personal expenses, such as mileage/fuel, may be reimbursed. This person also attends the monthly Worship and Spirituality meeting.
The coordinator is expected to have, or develop, an interest in and appreciation for the artistic principles in general, liturgical art and seasons, and the principles of liturgical decorations.
Approximately 5-8 hours monthly, with team meetings three or four times per year.
