Third Grade

Nicki Castellano

Why STCS?

There are so many things I LOVE about St. Theresa and God has filled my heart by allowing me to teach children about His love and how to be good stewards in the world.  Here are a few reasons St. Theresa is my home:

  1. When you walk the halls of STCS you will automatically know we are a Christ-centered school.
  2. My teaching team; they are the hardest most dedicated teachers I have ever met.  Our teachers are a prime example of life-long learners. We continue to strive for the best educational practices for our students and our classrooms.  We take our passion and profession as a vocation in life and are proud of it.
  3. The students and their families are generous, supportive, and giving.  We truly show what a real community looks like; the child, parents, and teacher collaboratively work together to always decide what is best for the child socially and academically.

Who Is Castellano?

My name is Nicki Castellano and I am your child’s third grade teacher.  Third grade is an exciting and very big academic growing year for children.  I am thrilled to work with your child and get to know his/her strengths in the classroom as well as outside the classroom.

My husband, Moses, and I have been married since October 2009 and have two daughters, Reagan and Kennedy.  We reside in Norwalk, but our children attend STCS.  Moses and I love STCS because of the faith-filled environment that consumes our parish- school community.

As a teacher, I would like to be a positive role model and help guide young children to reach success, not only academically, but on a social and personal level as well. I hope to be a strong leader by bringing out the unique qualities in each child that crosses my path.

I think you will be amazed at the progress your child will have throughout the entire year.  Good parent-teacher communication is vital to assure we have a successful year in third grade.  I feel it is extremely important, especially in the intermediate grades.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email me.

Abigail Espinoza

Classroom Associate

My name is Abigail Espinoza. This is my first year working as a teacher associate. I am currently majoring in psychology at Upper Iowa University. My goal is to graduate with a masters degree in psychology in order to become a marriage and family therapist. I think the education of children is so important because they are the future.

I am also passionate about the Catholic faith and how much we need God in our lives. I am currently engaged and I will be Mrs. Sauceda starting December 2nd. I have a chihuahua named Leia Cholula and she is one of the kindhearted dogs I know.

God has blessed me so much with allowing me to be part of the St. Theresa team!
