Prospective Families

Greetings. I would like to share with you the good news about St. Theresa Catholic School. Our parish has much to be proud of in St. Theresa Catholic. Our academic programs are top notch. St. Theresa Catholic is the only Pre K- 8 STEM school in the Diocese of Des Moines. Our STEM curriculum has been recognized at the state, national and international levels.

St. Theresa is proud to be comprised of over fifteen cultures among our student body. We are proud of our diverse student body and celebrate this diversity in many ways. Each year we hold a Culture Fair here at St. Theresa. The entire parish community is invited to participate. Our students and families create displays and presentations educating about, and celebrating their cultural heritages.

As a Catholic school, St. Theresa is rooted in the faith and traditions of Catholic Christianity. We provide an excellent education in the faith, but also strive to help our students understand the importance of living the faith each day. Each year, during Catholic Schools Week, we also celebrate “Social Justice Week” here at STCS. The students spend the week learning about and living the social justice teachings of our Church. Throughout the week, they participate in many presentations on social justice and also carry out an annual project to reach out to those in need, in our community and around the world. We have truly tried to create a ‘parish of mercy’ here at St. Theresa and our students are encouraged to live this ideal each day.

Here at St. Theresa, we very much try to live by the philosophy of our patron saint; St. Theresa of the Child Jesus; the ‘Little Flower.’ St. Theresa encouraged all people to spread the “little flowers” of mercy and kindness to all those that we encounter. Each month of the school year, one student is selected in each grade to receive the Little Flower award. This award is voted by their classmates and goes to the student who has best exemplified the life of St. Theresa during that month.

As you can see, we have a great deal to be proud of in our parish school and we invite you to learn more about us. We hope to see you soon.
