The Word of the Lord
The Body of Christ
These words are proclaimed and presented by Ministers of the Word and Ministers of the Eucharist. Since the early 1970’s, lay people have been blessed with the opportunity to share their gifts at Mass to proclaim the Word and distribute the Body of Christ to the parish community.

In order to build up the Body of Christ, we wish to encourage new participation and renew those who serve in these ministries. A series of retreats will be held throughout the year, participation in at least one necessary to be included on the schedule for Masses.

The responses from the faithful when addressed by ministers as indicated above are, “Thanks be to God” and “Amen.”  The Word becomes flesh, “Thanks be to God,” and dwells among us.  “Amen!”
