Art

Megan Sassatelli

My name is Megan Sassatelli and I’m the preK through 8th grade art teacher here at St. Theresa’s. I’m an alum of St. Theresa myself, and am so pleased to be back here serving in the teaching role. Art is a passion of mine and I hope to share that passion with the students. In the art room students will learn about the important role art plays on culture and community. We will look at art from a variety of artists and time periods and practice a variety of skills in drawing, painting, and sculpture. Art is a place for children to express themselves and learn that mistakes are okay and can be turned into something beautiful. Teaching in a Catholic school also gives me the unique opportunity to incorporate faith into the art curriculum. We discuss how we see God’s creations as masterpieces and make connections between our faith and the artwork we see and create. When I’m not teaching I’m usually cuddling with my cats, sewing, or watching baseball.
