Ann Strom
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa (Go Panthers!) and have taught previously in Des Moines’ Early Childhood program. I am very excited to continue teaching first grade at St. Theresa this year! I am happy to be able to share my faith with our students and watch them grow not only academically but in their faith as well. When I am not at school I am usually reading or at the softball fields with my mom and brothers.

My husband Bob and I have been members of St. Theresa’s for 47 years. We have two children, Joanne and Cheyenne. I enjoy family time and traveling around, seeing our country, and visiting various religious and historical landmarks. After I retired from the regular workforce, I felt drawn to do something more. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I completed the requirements needed for my substitute license This will be my second year as the 1st grade associate. I am truly blessed to be able to serve as a substitute and associate at my home Parish. Additionally, I am a Catechist with the Wednesday Faith Formation Program here at St. Theresa’s for many years. And, with every year and child I have taught I am enriched with their faith and joy. I look forward to walking with the first graders on their faith journey and love of the Catholic traditions, prayers, and scripture.
Mrs. Thorson

Hi! I’m Mrs. Thorson but you all can call me Miss Mary. The Holy Spirit called me to be here at St. Theresa School to be a part of this wonderful community of faith. I’m a grandmother and love to help kids. I’m looking forward to working with you at school. Mrs. Thorson will be in our first grade classroom on Mondays and Fridays this school year. In the past she has subbed at St. Theresa and has worked in other classrooms before joining our St. Theresa Catholic School family.

I recently graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, and am lucky to have my first teaching experience here at St. Theresa. Along with helping out in 1st grade, I am also the junior high Social Studies teacher. I am a sports fan, love to travel and enjoy going to the movies.
