Do You Need Help for Applying for ESA and CTO?

Rebecca Shafer, Tuition Management from the Region, will be at St. Theresa to assist school families in signing up for ESA and CTO on April 23 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the school office. **

Catholic Tuition Organization (CTO)

CTO is income-based. There is an application fee, and the award amount is determined by financial need. CTO is available for students in grades K-12. Below are the income guidelines for applying.

– Family size includes parent(s)/guardian(s), the total number of dependents, and others living in the household.

– Families/households are eligible for CTO assistance if their total income is at or below the [Insert Income Level] reported on Line 9 of their federal income tax form(s).

– Add $22,000 for each additional dependent.

Education Savings Account (ESA)

ESA funds are available to all students who are residents of the state of Iowa and attend a private school. Students must be five years old by September 15 of the application year. ESA is available for students in grades K-12. There is no fee to apply for ESA, and these funds do roll over from year to year.

**Families should bring their taxes for CTO as they will need the numbers to fill out the fields. If they have 2025 done, they should bring those documents/items. If they don’t, then they need to bring 2024.

Also, if a family receives SSI, TANF, or SNAP they will need to bring those documents to be uploaded to their application.
