A period of seclusion for the purposes of prayer and meditation. Every day we are bombarded my social media, customers, co-workers, family situations, and more. Even Christ, Himself, became overwhelmed that He took time to go out and pray, to escape and ponder. Daily reflection on our spiritual life is a necessity so that we place Christ at the center.
Some people already make this a habit, while others are just getting started. Still there are others who want to know how to start. Below you will find a few of the retreat centers in the area that parishioners have attended and recommend. Most of the centers have group retreats, private retreats, directed retreats, self-directed retreats, and scheduled retreats with topics for individuals and families. Retreats are offered all year long. Check their websites.
Throughout the summer, we will place brochures around the church from the various centers. We will also try to mention upcoming retreats in the bulletin that might spark interest. Take time for yourself and become reacquainted with God or further your relationship with Him. Rest. Relax in God’s presence.
