A Parish Finance Council is required by Canon Law. The members are appointed by the Pastor to three-year terms and meet on the second Thursday of every month. The St. Theresa Finance Council reviews monthly and annual financial reports, helps prepare the annual budget and works together to be good stewards of the money so generously given to the Parish. All pledges/tithes are kept confidential and the Council only sees total pledges/tithes, never individual contributions.
As a Council, we prioritize and decide on major expenditures that are necessary for the church and school. Each month we review the budget to ensure that costs/revenues are in line with expectations and to investigate causes for those items that are outside budget parameters.
The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Our goal is to share all financial information with the Parish, and to this end we will be posting financial results in summary form as soon as they have been reviewed by the Council.
